Missions Walk - Show Me Christian Youth Home

Walking through life can be all up-hill with no summit in site if you do not have a supportive family.  Families in crisis experience difficulties, problems that cannot be overcome.  This can leave children without a stable home or for some, a home of any kind.  The staff at Show Me is compelled by Christ to rescue and restore young lives.  This Christ centered mission places children with a family in a traditional family setting with trained house parents, in an atmosphere of love and encouragement, to give them a faith filled future.

This spring, their Show Me Christian School saw five Show Me kids graduate.  They overcame their challenges and trials in life and came out victorious.  To quote these graduates: “It isn't easy, but Show-Me is a fresh start for us kids coming here.”  From another graduate: “Jesus used my bad life for a greater cause: my growing and maturing in Him (my Savior).”  To quote Show Me staff: “A few years ago, these kids might have written their life's stories a little different.  Now they are grateful, they realize they are not alone. God was and will always be there with them.”  

This great work has been on-going since 1967.  Show Me has provided kids for over 50 years a home and family and a community of support.  This Southern Heights supported mission is funded solely by contributions from individuals, churches (like ours) and groups that are willing to put their faith into action to help children.  To get involved you can pray, volunteer, refer families struggling, and give.  Visit their website, Show Me Helping Kids, to learn more on how you can help make a difference in a child's life.

You can also learn more by attending the 2021 Annual Open House at Show Me.  See for yourself, meet the families, tour the homes, etc.  Everyone is welcome to do that and more at their open house.  The open house is Saturday, September 11, 2021, 10am to 3pm.  The address for their open house at their main campus is:  24302 Mahin Road, La Monte, MO.  Come have lunch, enjoy kids activities all day, a fun concert, and their horse program.  See firsthand how this mission leads children with up-hill battles to a level path in life.
